Conservative funds hold more cash and bonds, so balances move less but usually grow more slowly. Growth funds hold more shares, so they rise and fall more but have more potential over the long term. Balanced funds sit in between. The right choice depends on when you’ll use the money, for a first home or retirement, and how you’d react to a market fall.
